Will Learn Javascript Starting This Week

Will start learning Javascript this week from Udemy

With the basics of Python, I am going to add learning Javascript to my goals. I will likely start my Javascript bootcamp this week and see how it goes. I have known HTML and CSS for a very long time, and web development for me pretty much meant taking an existing CMS and just altering it to my benefit.

Once Upon A Time

I had 2 CMS that I actively used for all of my web projects – Coranto and Movable Type. Coranto was a lightweight CMS that I primarily used in early days to publish news on my pages which I then expanded to all my content needs. My earlier pages Indews Network, Cheatcodes, Ryzone Financial all relied on Coranto CMS in the earlier days.

MovableType was the heavy workhorse, and my preference as it let me publish static pages which was important to me from a SEO stand-point. The CMS actually benefitted me extensively from this standpoint as the pages on my site were very SEO friendly and I was able to get high ranking in Google relatively quickly. Unfortunately, this CMS was very hacker-friendly i.e. I got constantly hacked to the point that I abandoned all of my web projects. So, in a way – movable type was my downfall back in 2008ish.

Now to Future

With software engineering all the rage, and having the ability to create apps by myself being a huge plus – I believe advancing my skills by learning Javascript and later React will be hugely beneficial for me. I am going to start taking a web course – likely Udemy to pick up javascript. Will update you all on my progress and also on my notes from the course.

I have also noted in my earlier blog posts that I picked up Python similarly in Learn to Code in Python. Now, I do need to advance on my Python Development skill-set and I have a few projects that I want to work on that would advance those skills. In addition, I am going to see how I can participate in HackerRank so that I learn better practices as well
